Chris Guggiari-Peel

Chris is an experienced biologist and filmmaker who has conducted multiple projects in Africa. For his MSc in Evolutionary and Behavioural Ecology, he spent three months in South Africa studying the social network of giraffes.  During this project Chris took the opportunity to make a short documentary about the resident de-horned Southern white rhinos and the role that the local anti-poaching team plays in their protection. This film was nominated for the 2017 Limelight Film Awards Best Short Documentary, and has lead to further wildlife filmmaking opportunities.

In 2017, through his start-up filmmaking company Farsight Conservation, Chris won a grant to produce a series of short films about the threats facing the survival of forest elephants in Nigeria. Alongside drone work and filmmaking Chris works as a bee technician at the University of Exeter.
